Three best friends, one selfie stick, a turtle named Frederick and a symbolic weekend that represents a year of our exceptional bond.
12:30am Friday alarm for a 5:30am flight out of MSP

In Denver by 6:40am, Starbucks and Estes Park bound by 7. We picked Frederick at a Safeway at the base of Rocky Mountain National Park.

Fred is our birthday mascot from now til the end of time.
Rocky Mountain National Park – The snow made it absolutely perfect. It was 40 and sunny and a lot melted by the time we were headed back down the mountain.
Melissa & Doug kid puzzle drinking game.

Then the altitude got Fred and he got really drunk and made the Uber driver pull over four times to puke. We think he deleted most of the pictures of Friday night.
Saturday morning brunch at Snooze minus Fred, he was pretty hung over

We got so lucky to get seats at the bar, it was a 50 min wait.
Fred got up for Pho later though…

Saturday night Linger and Little Man Ice Cream

And Alex and Ani birthday presents, a Buddha for Alex, a reminder to keep it simple, a compass for Liz to help guide her through this time in her life and the Path of Life for Kate, a symbol of moving toward life’s fruitful moments. (Abby got a necklace too).

Happy 31st Birthday to us. And 28 years of friendship. Here’s to many more. May our year be filled with our sons, hikes, beers, birthday parties, group texts, Patina, coffee anywhere, pedicures, bracelets, changes, projects, walks, boats, fireworks, parks, and most importantly real life. I fucking love you guys.

OMG. I just re read this 2 years later and what a special trip this really was!!! By far, the most amazing birthday weekend yet and in a few more years when life lets us celebrate another birthday trip, it’ll be just as amazing! This makes my heart so happy!
